Devil’s Den: The Spring Unlike Any Other

Like many of Florida’s other springs, Devil’s Den is nestled in the heartland of Florida far from the major cities and beaches. In the little town of Williston, north of central Florida, lies this incredible spring that is an absolute must for any visit to the state. Devil’s Den popped up on my radar a few years ago and had been on my Florida Bucket List ever since.

This prehistoric spring differs from all the other springs in Florida due to the fact that it’s situated in an underground cave. To reach the water level, visitors must descend a set of wooden stairs. Once at the bottom, don a set of snorkel or SCUBA gear and jump right into the aqua blue water. For most people, snorkeling is the way to go; unfortunately, general swimming is not permitted.
