Florida’s Hidden Treasures
Florida is a popular destination due to its pristine beaches, warm weather and awesome theme parks. Tourists flock in droves to come see all that Florida has to offer, yet many of them skip over the best places simply because they don’t know that they exist.
Florida is home to hundreds of natural springs that pump beautifully clear water from the aquifer down below. While many are small and don’t produce much water, 33 springs across Florida are of first magnitude; meaning they 2800 liters per second or more.
Many of these large springs across Florida are open for recreational use including canoeing, kayaking, swimming, tubing and diving. So next time you’re in Florida on a particularly hot day, skip the crowded beach and head for one of Florida’s hidden treasures.
Some of my favorite springs across Florida:
–Devil’s Den – Williston, Fl
-Ginnie Springs – High Springs, Fl
–Rock Spring – Apopka, Fl
-Wekiva Springs – Apopka, Fl
-Wakulla Springs – Tallahassee, Fl
-Weeki Wachee – Spring Hill, Fl
